|Friends of The Trust|
Friends of The Disability Trust has been launched by local Illawarra businesses with the support of The Disability Trust Board to raise much needed funds for Illawarra's most respectable and reputable charities, providing care to over 3000 clients in the Illawarra region. These clients range from children to the elderly, with a wide array of programs being provided for these clients.
Ben Creagh of the St George Illawarra Dragons has kindly got behind the Friends of The Disability Trust as an ambassador of the initiative.
“The Disability Trust does a lot of great things for disabled people in the region, I especially like the wide range of sporting programs they offer children and young adults” said Ben Creagh of the Dragons.
“The programs give the participants an opportunity to learn about teamwork, mateship and having a go which I know is not only enjoyable but an important part of life. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be involved with The Disability Trust and look forward to being part of and helping out with their programs in the future.” He added.
If you were to ask an individual in the Illawarra region about The Disability Trust, it is more than likely they will know someone who has been a part of one of the programs or services provided, but the lesser known fact is The Disability Trust is a charitable organisation reliant on not only government grants, but donations from the community and business sector.
Throughout the year, with the support of Illawarra businesses and volunteers, Friends of The Disability Trust will hold four key major events to raise funds that will go towards the support of much needed services and equipment to the wide range of people The Disability Trust supports.
The Friends of The Disability Trust committee is managed by a group of like minded individuals who volunteer their time to help support The Disability Trust. This committee features individuals from a variety of local Illawarra businesses keen to increase the awareness of the services and programs provided by The Disability Trust and to increase the charitable donations to the organisation.
As a supporter of Friends of The Disability Trust, you can be assured that your donations will go towards services or equipment needed for The Disability Trust.
