Walk For Mental Health

MentalHealth

Tina Wiffen and Justin Welsford from our Bega Employment Connections office and a team of supporters walked from Cobargo to Bega to raise awareness of the Black Dog Institute’s “Exercise Your Mood” month. The 46km journey took 8 hours to complete and I am reliably told it is an exhausting 50,195 steps.

The walk draws attention to how physical activity can help people with mood disorders and depression. It has been proven that by being
active we are able reduce the. severity of mood disorders Tina said the walkers hoped their efforts would motivate others in the community to become more active. As well as raising awareness the group also raised more than $1000 for this worthwhile cause. Congratulations to Tina and Justin for taking the challenge.
