Shoshana is a linguist at the University of Wollongong who works in the area of communication and meaning. Shooshi (as she likes to be called) also has a son with a significant intellectual disability who lives in a Disability Trust group home.
Shooshi is well known to the Disability Trust and chairs the Parent Advisory Group. She advocates strongly for people with intellectual disabilities who are functionally nonverbal and have complex communication needs and their families. Shooshi is eager to bring the parent perspective to the Board of The Disability Trust, as well as a voice for the human rights of people living with severe intellectual disability.
