Registered Training Organisation

The Disability Trust is in the unique position of providing services and training that are disability specific. Services are provided to clients with a multitude of disabilities including physical, intellectual, developmental, sensory, autism, congenital, ABI/TBI, mental health issues etc.

Training can be specifically contextualised for these disabilities or for other areas e.g. aged care. 

Accredited courses are provided for internal employees, external organisations and individual participants not employed by The Disability Trust. Accredited Courses/ workshops will be run in accordance with demand at scheduled times.

Training Packages:

The Disability Trust as a Nationally Recognised Registered Training Organisation (Trusted Learning - 91809) is responsive to learner needs in the delivery of the relevant training package on scope (as noted below).

Included on the RTO scope is:

• CHC43115 - Certificate IV in Disability (Release 2). 

This Qualification is to be delivered as flexible learning in so far as each trainer will assess the delivery and modify where appropriate to meet the needs of the individual learners. This Qualification is to be delivered as new learning to:

  • Part time – 18 months (approximately 16 hours per week. Excluding school holidays) FTE structured training plus 120 hours in a disability workplace setting, attendance at 3 Field Trips per year as well as 56 Hours of non-structured training.
  • It is not suitable to be delivered as Online or Distance Education.

Time Commitment:  

Part Time Learners: a minimum of 1088 hours of structured training and 112 hours of non-structured learning.

Training and Assessment:

All training and assessment for accredited training is delivered and undertaken by individuals who have the required education, vocational qualifications and experience in the Disability, Aged care and Community Service Sectors. This includes the TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Release 1) and relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications. 

Under new regulations all students must have a USI (UNIQUE Student Identification) number.

Qualifications will NOT be provided to students until the number is provided. It is the students responsibility to have this number before they commence any accredited training with The Disability Trust. The number can be acquired online via www.usi.gov.au.

Location:

The Disability Trust’s Head office is in Jardine Street Fairy Meadow. It has a number of training rooms located including the Head office in Fairy Meadow as well as other offices in Shellharbour, Mittagong, Goulburn, Warrawong, Bateman’s Bay and Bega.


Learning Management System (LMS):

The Disability Trust has i-induct as its e-learning system. This system incorporates aspects of recruitment as well as training.
