Unfortunately the threat of bushfires is not over but as we welcome everyone back for 2020 we would like to start the year off by thanking all the firefighters and emergency crews who have been working long hours to contain the fires.
We would also like to thank our own teams and local communities for your amazing efforts and commitment helping to evacuate many of our residents as a precautionary measure and ensure back up staff when support workers were unable to come to work due to road closures or their own homes being under threat.
We continue to respond to the rapidly changing bushfire emergency situation that is impacting so many people right across our area of operations. Our Emergency Management Committee is supporting regional responses that keep people safe and stay ahead of emerging risks.
The Disability Trust is a great family to belong to and we have seen so many amazing, generous and dedicated staff going above and beyond, banding together to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.
Our hearts go out to all those affected by the fires and we will continue to respond to ensure the safety of all our participants and staff over the coming weeks.
