On Friday 1st April, sixty participants and thirty staff members headed off from The Disability Trust’s headquarters in Edney Lane to go on mountain camp at The Tops Stanwell Park, looking forward to three fun filled days and two nights.
It was an incredible adventure, with the journey broken up with a stop for laser tag, before our happy campers settled into their home away from home.
The days were packed with fun activities, including a fashion parade with outfits made entirely from newspaper, a Jungle-themed Loud/Silent Disco to suit all tastes, kite flying and even archery for the budding Robin Hoods in the group. The participants threw themselves into the activities and had a great time.
It was a mammoth task to organise such a large-scale event during lockdown, so we’d like to thank the staff who worked really hard to make the camp happen. We’d also like to thank the drivers and staff at Premier Illawarra Coaches for their support.
Finally, a special thank you to everyone who attended and got involved with such enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing you all again at the next camp!
