Last Sunday the Score Raiders finally got to play two exhibition matches before the Country v City Wheelchair Rugby game at Q1 Indoor Sports in Queanbeyan after not being able to have a game this season due to Covid-19. Taking on City NSW ID at Seiffert Oval our players had a great day back on the field and put in a huge effort.
The opposition came out firing but there was plenty of great footy with everyone getting a run and sharing the ball. Victor the Viking made a special appearance half-way through the game, and was a huge hit with everyone there. The final score was a close one with City NSW winning 28-22.
Game two was also fantastic with some exciting tries and crucial tags but again City NSW ID proved too good on the day defeating the Score Raiders seven tries to two.
Our coach, Eilish Winbank is really proud of her team, “They had such an awesome time and it was so great for the team to come from Sydney, they were great. With everything going on in the world at the moment we didn’t think we would get a game this year but we did and it was great.”
