With the COVID lockdown in Victoria entering a second week, and the emergence of exposure sites over the border in New South Wales, The Disability Trust would like to ensure staff and participants are protected from the threat posed by the virus.
All staff are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible to keep themselves and the communities we support safe and well. Our staff are also supporting participants to enable them to attend clinics to be vaccinated. This support will continue so that we can see as many participants as possible receiving their vaccinations.
The Disability Trust’s Chief Operating Officer Ed Birt, who was recently vaccinated himself, is eager to share our message with everyone, as he explains "I urge people to get their vaccination as soon as possible. It’s the only way to ensure that we keep the most vulnerable in our communities safe from the risk of serious illness caused by the COVID-19 virus.”
People with disability, carers and those working in the sector in NSW can book a vaccine appointment at a NSW vaccination clinic directly through the Vaccine Eligibility Checker here: https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility
If you have any questions, require more information or need assistance booking a vaccination appointment, please call the National Coronavirus Vaccine Helpline on 1800 020 080
