Damper and Disco a winning combination at Broken Bay Camp

Sport and Recreation Services were able to run their first big over 18’s camp following lockdown restrictions.

On Friday 10th December, 76 participants and 30 staff headed off from The Disability Trust’s headquarters to go on Camp at Broken Bay for two nights.

It was a fun-packed weekend, with participants enjoying pool games, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, archery, initiative games and team building activities. They also cooked damper around the camp fire before getting together for a ‘Pirates and Princesses’ themed dress up disco on Saturday night. Everyone had a great time!

Sport and Recreation Services Coordinator Melissa Hurley said,

“A huge thank you to everyone attending. We had an awesome group of participants from the Illawarra and Shoalhaven, and it was lovely to see new and old participants all together at last, having fun on Camp. The weekend was a successful trip away thanks to the amazing team of staff who worked hard all weekend to ensure all participants were safe, supported and having fun. It was a lovely way to lead into the last week of programs for 2021. Looking forward to camps in 2022!”
