Light it up blue for Autism

light it up blue for autismThe Disability Trust are proud to partner with Wollongong Light the Lighthouse Blue for Autism again this year but due to the current pandemic of COVID-19 the event has been transformed. Thanks to event organiser Kylie O’Neill, who is encouraging the community to decorate their homes.

“I know how important this is for so many families so I challenge everyone that on 2 April 2020 people decorate their homes in anything blue and wear blue. Just because we can't be together doesn't mean we can't celebrate World Autism Day.”

Kylie and The Disability Trust are hoping that the community will jump on board and post photos of their efforts on Facebook and share it with the Wollongong Lighthouse goes Blue for Autism Facebook page. Kylie and her partner are also hoping to light up their own house and share it on the page via live stream.

As the mother of a child on the spectrum Kylie is passionate about the event with her objective to not only raise awareness but help other families realise they don't have to walk the autism journey alone.
