This year's theme for NAIDOC week was "Heal Country" so on Saturday 10 July, the residents of Raglan Road listened to dreamtime stories such as “The Rainbow Serpent”, “How the birds got their colours” and “How the Kangaroo got its tail”.
The Support Workers held discussions with the residents as to what we can do to seek greater protections for our land, our waters and our cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration and destruction. They spoke about protecting the waters and marine life around us, the importance of respecting our beautiful land on which we live on by reducing waste and recycling correctly.
Our residents also painted some Aboriginal inspired artwork whilst listening to an Aboriginal dreamtime meditation. They all had a very enjoyable time participating in NAIDOC week.
