Opening of the Plant Room Cafe at Edney Lane

In September 2019, The Disability Trust welcomed our new social enterprise The Plant Room Café in conjunction with the Illawarra Vocational Services at Edney Lane, Spring Hill. Under the leadership of Café Supervisor Mandy Bailey and Café All Rounder Roxanne Kuusik, the Café employs over seven supported personnel.

Operating 8am to 3pm on weekdays, the Café aims to deliver on quality customer service, a relaxed environment for all individuals to enjoy and an upmarket food venue for the surrounding local area. The Plant Room’s philosophy is to create a more inclusive world through a shared joy of quality food and coffee made with the freshest ingredients.

As part of the new launch, The Disability Trust has opened Club Trust Teens and Kids, in a space next to the Café that offers families the option for both Vacation Care and After School Care programs.

These programs offer participants the chance to interact with each other, and participate in tailored activities relating to sport, art and craft and group-orientated games. For more information on Club Trust Teens and Kids, please contact annette.pilon@disabilitytrust.org.au.
