Ragers is one of these programs. Before COVID Ragers operated as a Community Access group across South an South Western Sydney. Participants would meet at designated location where they travelled together to a range of outings in the community.
Ragers supports peer interactions and builds the foundations of great social skills and independence in a community setting while maintaining friendships, encouraging social interaction and contributing to overall wellbeing.
Some of these activities would include restaurants, bowling, bands and live shows. Over the years many strong friendships have developed so when community access groups ceased due to Covid everyone was pretty upset and started to really miss each other.
Since COVID restrictions have been in place, we have moved this program to a centre based model running out of our Miranda and Campbelltown offices. Clients transport themselves to and from the program independently. We have partnered with some of our clients favourite restaurants who deliver meals pre chosen by our clients to our Recreation room individually packaged.
An array of activities are also pre planned for example this term we held:
As a bonus this new program has also given one client the opportunity to learn how to navigate and use UBER- what a great skill and step towards a more independent life!
