The 2022 UCI Road World Championships will take place in Wollongong from 18-25 September 2022. Over 300,000 spectators and 10,000 international visitors are expected to attend as more than 1000 cyclists compete for a gold medal and the coveted rainbow jersey. This is the largest event ever hosted in Wollongong and over 1500 volunteers are needed to make the event a success.
Volunteer opportunities include course marshals, welcome and hosting, event support, drivers, media and broadcast operations, volunteer management and more. Volunteers can register individually or as part of a group. Applications close Wednesday 25th May. All volunteers are required to be 18 years or over. Opportunities for younger volunteers to be involved will be coordinated through local schools.
