Learning and Development Update
The Learning and Development team would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for your assistance and patience during what has been a trying year. The COVID-19 virus has certainly had a large impact on all our lives both professionally and personally.
Training has continued to be delivered albeit with restrictions and will continue to do so in 2021.
The Business Skills calendar was unfortunately suspended due to COVID-19, however the Learning and Development Team worked hard to ensure delivery of the Service Skills calendar was maintained, albeit on a lesser scale.
Training group numbers and our range of training topics were significantly reduced in order to stay in line with social distancing requirements. Unfortunately, we do not have a crystal ball and the nature of the virus makes it difficult for us to predict what can and will be delivered throughout 2021. However, we will continue to organise and deliver quality training for the organisation be it an eLearning or a blended approach (online and face to face.)
In early 2021, you will receive emails from the L&D team outlining course offering on both the Service and Business Skill calendars for the first Quarter. Behind the scenes we have been developing new packages and opportunities that we are excited to introduce in the new year. As a sneak peak, we can let you know that we have a Palliative Care Workshop on offer, a Supported Decision Making (OPG) course as well as a range of online professional development and soft skill courses in the pipeline!
In addition to our course offerings, the L&D team would also like to highlight that we currently have several trainees undertaking traineeships within the organisation. The commitment required to meet the guidelines of these traineeships will continue in 2021.
All training offerings in 2021 will continue to be delivered in accordance with Health Regulations and recommendations around COVID-19. Wherever possible, we will also continue to use TDT sites to deliver training.
On that note, I would like to advise that the last day of training this year will be 21st December. We will resume the training calendar from the 15th January 2021.
